Jon Arkin Online Workshop: Patterns for Learning Your Way Around the Drums
August 1 @ 1:00 pm$30 – $45
Great drummers are said to “know their way around the kit”, meaning their playing has fluidity & control even when playing fills or solo ideas. An effective way of developing this fluidity is the practice of hand/foot patterns, which are short loops of notes that can be applied in any rhythmic context, and can be used to internalize movement & coordination. A series of exercises with example applications will be provided, as well as many ideas for varying & expanding on the basic forms of the patterns.
