Immerse yourself in the drumming styles of two of the most influential jazz drummers of all time: Elvin Jones and Tony Williams. In this course, we will explore the unique approaches and techniques of these jazz giants, gaining a deeper understanding of their contributions to the evolution of jazz drumming. Through the analysis of classic recordings and live performances, students will learn about the rhythmic concepts, soloing techniques, and musicality that made Elvin Jones and Tony Williams such exceptional and influential drummers. By drawing on their insights and approaches, we’ll develop techniques and concepts to apply to our own drumming.
